Be honest with yourself here

Who this evening is for

Come if this sounds like you

  • You have tried to quit before and it did not hold.
  • You have decided you are done, rather than idly wondering about it.
  • You would rather be walked through something than read about it.
  • You want to start somewhere lower-commitment than a full program.

Book a one-to-one session instead if

  • Sitting in a room of strangers would take all your attention. The work needs your attention, not your nerves.
  • Your smoking is tangled up with something you would not want to discuss in front of a group.
  • You want the whole thing built around your specific pattern from the first minute.

There is no wrong answer. If you are unsure, book the free strategy session and Al will tell you which one suits you better.

The evening, in order

What happens on the night

No lecture on lung damage. You already know all of that, and it has never once stopped anybody mid-cigarette.

  1. Arrive and settle

Find a chair, get comfortable. Nobody is asked to stand up and confess anything to the room.

  2. Why the last attempt ended

A short, plain explanation of why willpower loses to a habit, and what has to change for it to stop being a fight. Most people find this part a relief.

  3. You build your own trigger map

On paper, privately. Your cigarettes are not the same as the person beside you, and this is the part that makes a group session personal.

  4. The group hypnosis session

You sit back and listen. You stay awake and aware the whole time, and you can stop whenever you want. Nobody is called out, put on stage, or made to do anything.

  5. Tomorrow morning, and the week after

What to expect and exactly what to do at the moments that used to be automatic, including the self-hypnosis you can use on your own.

  6. Questions, then home

Ask anything. If you decide you want the deeper one-to-one work afterwards, you can arrange it then — but you are under no obligation, and the evening is complete on its own.

The room matters

Why doing this in a group works

You stop being the only one

Most smokers carry a quiet, private shame about having failed at this several times. Sitting in a room where everybody has the same history takes most of that away within about ten minutes.

Saying it out loud counts

Deciding something privately is easy to walk back on a bad Tuesday. Deciding it in a room, with other people who watched you decide it, is harder to quietly undo.

It costs a fraction of one-to-one

The same method, the same practitioner, one evening, shared between a small group. For a lot of people it is the most sensible way to start.

Attending the workshop does not guarantee any particular result. Hypnotherapy outcomes vary from person to person and depend on individual circumstances and participation. Al will not tell you otherwise, on this page or in the room.

Before you book, you should know the free options exist

Alberta funds quit-smoking support through AlbertaQuits and the QuitCore group program, plus a pharmacist-led cessation service. They cost nothing, and for plenty of people they are the right place to start.

This workshop is a different approach, not automatically a better one. It works on the pattern underneath the habit rather than on information, counselling, and medication support. It tends to suit people who have already been through the standard routes and found the pattern was still there afterward.

If the free programs are a better fit for you, take them. That is the honest answer, and it is the one you should hear before you spend $297.

$297 per person, one evening

What your seat includes

  • The full evening, led start to finish by Al
  • Your own written trigger map, built on the night and yours to keep
  • A full guided group hypnosis session
  • A self-hypnosis technique you can use on your own afterwards
  • A written plan for the first week, so you are not improvising
  • A session recording to take home and use for the next 30 days
  • Re-attendance at any Last Cigarette workshop for 12 months, at no cost
  • Time for your questions, answered directly

Prefer to work one to one?

The workshop is a genuine standalone evening, not a ninety-minute advert for something else. But if your smoking is wrapped up with stress, grief, or something you would rather work through privately, the one-to-one program is the better route.

It is $97 for a 45-minute session, booked after the free consult if it is a fit, and built entirely around your own triggers. Zoom, or a house call.

Running this for your team

Employers pay for smoking-related absence, breaks, and benefit costs every year. Al runs this same evening on site for workplaces and community groups.

Workshop questions

Will I be hypnotised in front of everyone?

Everyone in the room goes through the session together, sitting in their own chair with their eyes closed. Nobody is singled out, brought to the front, or asked to perform. This is not stage hypnosis and there is no audience, because everybody in the room is taking part.

Do I have to talk about myself in front of strangers?

No. Your trigger map is written privately on your own sheet and nobody reads it but you. You are welcome to ask questions out loud, and equally welcome to sit quietly the entire evening.

Should I stop smoking before I come?

No, and please do not try to. Come as you normally are. Turning up already exhausted from three days of white-knuckling makes the evening harder, not easier.

What if I cannot make the date?

Reserve your spot on the list below anyway and Al will let you know when the next evening is scheduled. Seats are limited to 12, so the list is how most people get in.

Is there anyone who should not attend?

The workshop is for adults 18 and over. If you have a diagnosed medical or mental-health condition, are pregnant, or are under a doctor’s care for anything related, speak with your physician first and mention it to Al before you book. Hypnotherapy here is non-medical and is not a substitute for treatment from your doctor.
